“Courage is the most important of all the virtues, because without courage you can't practice any other virtue consistently. You can practice any virtue erratically, but nothing consistently without courage.”-Maya Angelou
We firmly believe in the mindset and a way of life where, “it’s not about you, it’s not about me, it’s about our children’s future.” One of our prioritized goals is to help the community realize that there are alternatives to resorting to gun violence. We believe that if we guide the minds of the youth, then we change their future. If we can teach children that violence and picking up a gun in anger is not the way to solve problem lives will ultimately be saved. We believe that to change gun violence, systemic and systematic racism, poverty, and many other major issues that plague the disenfranchised in America we must empower the youth. We must teach the children that they have a voice and their decisions matter. We must show them that they have the power to change their communities and the world through their future decisions. Our commitment is to bring back the village mentality, that we are all one family, and we are connected in this community. Our youth programs drive these goals forward and is how we achieve our mission of teaching our youth to self-empower, self-advocate, and become competent citizens of our society in all areas of life.
